What a great September… (October 2017)

pastorterryDear Church Family,

What a great September we have had together as a church.

On September the 17th, our Back to Church Sunday, we had 134 present in worship. We had twenty eight children in Children’s Church. This was one of the highest attendances in worship that we have had in several years.

Then, on Saturday September 23, we had our clothes give away with approximately 125 shoppers. One family had several children with them, and when they saw that we were still carrying things out of the building, they were eager to help. They carried loads of shoes, matched them, and lined them alone the front of the building.

We had lots of spiritual conversations with shoppers, and one lady asked for prayer about a family situation. Several individuals said that they plan to visit the church in the future. So many shoppers expressed shock that we had collected so many clothes, and that we were just sharing them freely.

This past Sunday we received a special offering for Hurricane relief. You generously gave $700 to provide much needed help. The money has already been sent to BGAV Disaster Relief Fund, to be used in the recovery process.

During the month of August, you gave $876 to Hope Tree Family services, (formerly Baptist Children Home) to help with the care of the residents.

Also, because of your generous giving we have once again reached our financial budget for the year. I want to thank each of you for your generous giving of your time, talents, and resources to the church. Without your love for Christ, and His church none of these ministries would be possible. Working together, we can continue to spread God’s love, see lives changed, and build His church.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on October 8, as we gather to celebrate our 65th anniversary. Don’t forget that worship will start at 11:00, and at the end of the service we will receive a special offering, for the Building Fund, to help with renovation projects. Don’t forget to bring a well filled basket for our homecoming meal following the service. Thanks for all you do!
